An inspection will also assess drains and drainage systems ensuring all are working and that appliances, like your water heater, are properly connected and thermal temperatures are maintained throughout the house.

Basement & Foundation

Inspections assessing basement and foundations involve observations of any area which cracks or leans which can indicate uneven load on the foundation. Both the foundation walls and home walls should be flush and level. Water damage and foundation cracks are also inspected.

Exterior inspections are tailored based to the type of material which covers the exterior of the home. Exterior inspections relating to the walls, masonry, and siding assess for deterioration, punctures, and is coloration.

Roof, Flashing & Gutters

Radon Testing

The inspector will communicate back the results of the radon test and determine whether home levels are considered safe.

Windows & Doors

When inspecting windows and doors, a home inspector evaluates various factors to ensure functionality, security, and energy efficiency. They examine the condition of frames, sashes, and seals for any signs of damage or deterioration. Hardware components such as locks, hinges, and handles are tested for proper operation and security. Inspectors also assess the integrity of glass panes, looking for cracks, fogging, or other defects. Additionally, they check for adequate weather-stripping and insulation to prevent drafts and energy loss.

Kitchens

During a kitchen assessment, a home inspector scrutinizes various elements to ensure functionality, safety, and quality. They examine the condition of kitchen appliances, checking for proper operation and signs of wear or damage. Inspectors assess the integrity of countertops, cabinets, and drawers, looking for any structural issues or water damage.
